Programs

Dayspring Outreach, Inc. (DSO) recognized that children needed alternatives to their daily struggles.
Programs at Dayspring Outreach, Inc. (DSO) include:

  • Social training
  • Sports skills training
  • Tutoring, when available to the youth
  • Education outings
  • Learning about history, media and government
  • Food closets
  • Clothing closets*

*For the Clothing Closet, only Quality items are given to the children. We are in demand for these items often, and supplies are very short.

Food and Bread Program

This program, which started over 12 years ago, is ran by a host of Dayspring Outreach (DSO) Volunteers. Volunteers start at 5:30 AM and sometimes work until 11:00 PM, to give out bread and food to the inner city families that need support. Sometimes there’s fruits and vegetables but most of the time, it is bread and cakes.

Over the last 20 years the volunteer list has included these wonderful people:
Norman Clemens, Debra Slay, Barbara McClain, Rita Carter, Gerri Crum, Ivan Crume, Norris Crume, Michelle Singleton, Kevin Sypert, Sr., Mr&Mrs. Bolton, Charles & Tracy Bolton, Desmond Carter, Nicole Sypert, Nichelle Sypert, Mrs. Wanda Borders, Dee Dee Hightower and Diane People.

Some Volunteers have since passed away:
Robert McClain, Sr., Sam Armstrong and John Borders, Sr.
