Food and Bread Program

Wonderful volunteers give food to the communities of Sacramento.

One of the primary goals at Dayspring Outreach is to provide food and other necessities to those in our community who need help. Many local area residents go hungry each day to due a lack of food. We accept donations in the form of clothing, shoes, canned foods and other items which are distributed to children and families in the Sacramento area.

This program, which started over 12 years ago, is run by a host of Dayspring Outreach volunteers. Volunteers start at 5:30 AM and sometimes work until 11:00 PM, giving out bread and food to the inner city families that need support. Sometimes we provide fruits and vegetables but most of the time, it is bread and cakes.

Over the last 12-years the volunteer list has included these wonderful people: Norman Clemens, Debra Slay, Barbara McClain, Rita Carter, Gerri Crum, Ivan Crume, Norris Crume, Michelle Singleton, Kevin Sypert, Sr., Mr. & Mrs. Bolton, Charles & Tracy Bolton, Desmond Carter, Nicole Sypert, Nichelle Sypert, Mrs. Wanda Borders, Dee Dee Hightower and Diane People.

Some volunteers have since passed away: Robert McClain, Sr., Sam Armstrong and John Borders, Sr.

We have served over 5000 families.
